Says Alexander George Muthoot, Director, The Muthoot Group, India, “I think he is one of the best professors I have come across because of the way he engages people in a room. He is appreciative of our inputs and does a great job. He gives personal attention to all the leaders in an ExEd program.

In the program that we attended, there were about five members from our family but we did not sit together. In a family business program, it’s good for more than one member to attend such events. Only then can we reap the true benefits of such outings. On the first day itself, the visiting cards were kept away, so that we began the exercise as strangers getting to know each other. Instead of introducing ourselves, we introduced another person in the group which was engaging. On the whole, it was a great learning experience. He really encouraged and engaged us in such a way that we were asking for more at the end of the program.”

He has done research on family business, entrepreneurship and strategy, and has authored/edited seven books and published extensively in reputed Indian and overseas journals. His consulting experience includes areas such as family business governance, professionalization, succession planning, strategic planning, identification of new opportunities for growth, corporate entrepreneurship and turnaround strategies in family and non-family environments. His latest book, “ The 10 Commandments for Family Business” has been published by the SAGE in January 2015. He has been a pioneer academic entrepreneur, propagating the message of strengthening family business in India and outside.
