In its 90th year, the Professional Development Programme (PDP) at the Cornell School of Hotel Administration is a series of three-day courses offered in the summer on the Cornell University campus in Ithaca, New York, USA. Certifications and courses are geared toward hospitality professionals who have a minimum of two years’ experience in the hospitality industry or a related field.

Who Should Apply

Participants from around the world find that the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration delivers the most sophisticated executive-education courses to the hospitality industry. From line-level managers to senior executives, PDP is certain to provide lifelong learning opportunities necessary to advance business and personal success.

Led by Cornell faculty and industry leaders, participants are able to apply this unique experience immediately in their daily activities. Interaction and networking with colleagues from around the globe is a unique and integral component of the program.

The Professional Development Programme (PDP) offers certifications recognized around the world. Most certification sequences are composed of four sharply focused courses and most can be completed in a single year or in as many as four years. You may wish to pursue a certification that requires a course or courses that cover material with which you are already familiar by virtue of your experience or prior education. We would be happy to assist in course selection that best suits your experience and education.

PDP offers three-day courses that can be taken individually or in a series to complete a certification. Each course is designated by level, allowing you to receive training best suited to both your past experience and learning goals. An assignment must be completed before each class begins, and homework or group work will be assigned each of the first two evenings. Because of the intensive work and study preparation, you may attend only one course per three-day session.
